Distribution & Carrier Lead

Are you a strategic thinker with strong operational execution and deep expertise in carrier and distribution management? We are looking for a Distribution & Carrier Lead to join the Operations team.
This role is instrumental in shaping a reliable, efficient, and scalable distribution network ensuring strong carrier performance, competitive delivery capabilities, and cost-efficient operations across markets.
In this role you will be responsible for the development of customer-centric delivery value propositions, the primary focus of this role is on building, optimizing, and managing our carrier network and distribution strategy in collaboration with cross-functional and cross-country teams.
What is your role?
You will oversee the health, performance, and evolution of our global carrier network, ensuring high-quality delivery operations that support customer experience, competitive positioning, and cost performance.
You’ll drive distribution strategy in collaboration with teams such as:
Managing Directors to align on market delivery needs and performance expectations
Cluster/Local Transport & Operations teams to ensure scalable, high-quality execution
Tech & Product to improve delivery-related features and operational tools
Finance & Pricing and Indirect Procurement, to secure cost efficiency and sustainable economics
Your ability to combine strategic network planning with hands-on operational ownership is key to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global carrier strategy, including contract negotiations (in cooperations with indirect procurement), performance frameworks, and service-level definitions.
Own carrier performance management, overseeing delivery of quality, cost, and compliance with service-level agreements.
Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with carriers together with local transport teams.
Identify distribution and logistics improvement areas across countries, services, and customer experiences.
Optimize distribution costs, challenging transport and operations teams to achieve best-in-class quality at the lowest possible cost.
Ensure process traceability and standardization across markets and carriers.
Use data and analytics to monitor key metrics (delivery performance, cost efficiency, customer satisfaction) and define corrective actions.
Support the development of delivery value-added services (e.g., new delivery models, subscription services) where these initiatives depend on carrier readiness and operational feasibility.
Collaborate with Pricing and Managing Directors to define pricing strategies per service and customer segment to drive optimal customer behaviour.
Contribute to market-specific delivery propositions, ensuring they are operationally viable and aligned with carrier network capabilities.
Who are you?
You have 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution, Carrier Management, or similar operational fields. You bring a deep understanding of distribution processes, carrier performance levers, operational quality factors, and cost-to-serve dynamics.
You also bring:
Completed master's degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
Strong negotiation skills and experience managing carrier contracts and performance
Experience working cross-functionally with commerce, operations, marketing, finance, tech, and product teams
Solid skills in business case creation and evaluating operational feasibility
Strong analytical abilities to turn data into operational recommendations
Knowledge of international logistics providers, distribution models, and shipping regulations
